ENGLISH CAMP

Introduction:

The ‘Nasyid’ activity is to enable students to:

● Improve all learning (listening, reading, speaking, writing) skills.


● Appreciate the language and value implied in the selected songs
● Enjoying themselves in good manner.

The following are the details on the ‘Nasyid’ activity:

Procedures:

PART I :

1. This activity should be brief on the first day of the camp.


2. For this activity, all participants will be divided into groups(activity group).
3. They’ll choose a ‘nasyid’ song (in any other languages than English) for
their own group and translate it into English (they are free to translate the
original lyrics or change/add their own ideas to improvise the song)
4. Participants will be given adequate time to practice for their performance.

PART II :

5. They will be given a chance to deliver the song by using their own
interpretation.
6. Each group should use live instrument such as guitar, ‘kompang’, drums,
custom percussions (pails, cookie jars, etc)
7. All groups will be judged according to their performances and creativity.

Scoring Criterias

1. Students’ performances will be evaluated according to these


criteria:
a. Performance- Interesting enough to attract audience,
showmanship
b. Creativity- Appearance, Percussion, Lyrics
