    (Pledge of Allegiance to the Philippine flag)

    On June 12, Independence Day, 1996, Executive Order No. 343 was issued. This
    Executive Order approves Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat as the official pledge of
    allegiance to the Philippine National Flag. This pledge is recited after both the National Anthem
    and the Patriotic Pledge (Panatang Makabayan) at flag ceremonies. Below is the pledge in
    Filipino and the English translation.

    Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat ng Pilipinas Pledge of Allegiance to the Philippine flag

    Ako ay Pilipino I am a Filipino


    Buong katapatang nanunumpa I pledge my allegiance
    Sa watawat ng Pilipinas To the flag of the Philippines
    At sa bansang kanyang sinasagisag And to the country she represents
    Na may dangal, katarungan at kalayaan With honor, justice and freedom
    Na pinakikilos ng sambayanang That is put in motion by one nation
    Maka-Diyos For the love of God, people,
    Maka-tao Nature and
    Makakalikasan at Country.
    Makabansa.
