NewManagerfor AnimalServices

As you know, the City initiateda nationwidesearch in September2010 for a new

managerto leadthe AnimalServicesdivision.

The City contractedwith Kittleman & Associates,an executive search firm that
specializesin recruitmentfor animalwelfareorgnnizations,and the selectionprocess
culminatedwith interviewsin Dallasfor three, highlyqualifiedfinalists.Additionally,the
selectionprocessincludeda communitypaneldiscussionwith eachof the threefinalists,
and the panel includedmembersof the AnimalShelterCommission,MetroplexAnimal
Coalition,SPCAof Texas,DallasLovesAnimals,and DallasAnimalAdvocates.

I am pleasedto announceMs. Jody Jonesas the new managerfor AnimalServicesin

Code Compliance.She brings20 yearsof animalwelfareexperiencein the privateand
publicsectors,includingroles as a directorfor AnimalCare & Controlin New York City
for 6 yearsand 7 yearsas managerin a smallershelterin Huntingfon,NewYork. She is
currentlythe divisionmanagerfor the RichmondAnimalCare & Controlin Virginia.She
is a memberof the boardof the MrginiaFederationof HumaneSocietiesand is on the
facultyof the AmericanProsecutingAttomeysAssociationfor the Committeeon Animal
Law. Jody is frequentlyaskedto presentBt local and nationalanimalorganizationsand
recentlyspokeat the Humane$ocietyof the U.S.nationalconferencethis month.

Jody is makingpreparationsfor her moveto Dallasand will starton June 15, 2011. In
the interim,DPD LieutenantScottWaltonwill continueto serve as interimmanagerfor
AnimalSeryices,as he has doneso capablyduringthis searchprocess.
