CLINICAL ASSIGNMENT

1. ECG and Holter Monitor

2. MUGA scan

3. Echocardiogram with Left Ventricular ejection fraction

4. Nuclear Stress Test

5. Coagulation Tests

6. Tilt Table Testing

7. Cardiac Enzymes

8. Venography/Plethysmography

Assignment:

1. Each student will be assigned a diagnostic test to present at post conference. Plan on
approximately a 5 – 8 minute presentation.
2. Clearly explain the patient preparation and nursing responsibilities including patient
teaching.
3. Describe the purpose of the procedure and how it is performed.
4. Define the significance of normal and abnormal outcomes.
5. Describe why the test would be used in diagnosing cardiac status in patients with CAD,
MI, Angina, or CHF.
6. Use diagrams, graphs, displays, etc. to enhance your teaching.
7. Be prepared to answer questions from the group.
8. A written report of the procedure is to be submitted to your clinical instructor on the day
of the presentation.
9. A self evaluation of the presentation and the response of your audience will be handed in
the following week.
