for all stages of a multimodal movement

•Corporatisation of the Major Ports for achieving higher autonomy in the


Port Operations

•Motor Vehicle Acts need to be reviewed to accommodate Heavy Lift


Movements

•Investment assisstance for sprucing up the infrastructural capabilities


for all the routes so identified to cater to the projects in core sector.

SUGGESTIONS
•Increasing the use of transportation thru Inland Waterways thru
effective investment on Public Private Partnership model

•Increased Investment into the Modernisation of the non-major ports on


Public-private partnership basis
•Integrated approach in Logistic Infrastructural development

•National Highway Status to be given to the road networks leading to


the Project Sites of National Importance

Human Resource Management


•Organised Development of Human Resources at the Operational Level
involving Drivers /Port Operators

•Setting up of adequate no. of Management Institutes catering


specifically to Logistic Domain.

•Tax incentives to the 3 PL companies involved in this sector so as to


attract the large 3 PL players to invest in a much better way into the
training of handling equipments , trucking and upgradation of
technology and staff training.

INDUSTRY STATUS

Last but not the least Logistics needs to be given a separate


independent industry status so that the genuine requirements of the
sector can get addressed more effectively in unified manner
