THE CANCER EPIDEMIC:
A DISASTER IN THE MAKING
HOW TO WIN THE WAR ON CANCER & RECLAIM YOUR HEALTHVN ————
Today, millions suffer from one form of cancer or another. We are now
faced with a scenario where one in three will be afflicted with this
dreaded disease at some point in their lifetime and the odds are rising
against us. We cannot afford to be complacent, hoping that one day the
miracle of science will finda cure.
Beginning in the early 1970's governments along with thousands of
researchers, scientists and other medical professionals have desperately
attempted to find a “cure” for this devastating disease. Since then, cancer
has significantly proliferated becoming the leading cause of death in the
world. Today we can safely assume that all the research along with the
billions spent on finding a cure have yielded insignificant results at best.
In fact, mortality rates from cancet have increased over the past decades.
Our approach to dealing with cancet is fundamentally flawed. Cancer is,
for all intensive purposes, incurable. Simply recognizing the underlying
causes behind the rapid rise of cancer and taking corrective measures
will be the only solution to this catastrophic epidemic.
By the time you have finished reading the above paragraphs, seven
people would have died from cancer throughout the world.
A few decades ago, cancer was uncommon, especially in developing
countries. From 1975 to 2002, the total number of new cancer cases has
jumped from an annual rate of 5.9 million to 11 million (an 86%
increase). In 2002 there were 6.7 million deaths and 24.6 million
survivors living with cancer within three years of diagnosis. In 2002 the
United States accounted for fourteen percent of new cancer cases and
China had twenty percent of the world total.
Every year more than 1.5 million new cases are diagnosed in the United
States alone. In the U.S., evety thirty seconds one American dies of
cancer and now cancet kills more children between the ages of three and

fourteen than any other illness. Cancer has now reached epidemic
proportions in industrialized countries and it strikes more than one in
three people and kills one in four.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) more than 25
million people are living with cancer and nearly 11 million new cases are
diagnosed each year, of which one in three is preventable. The
organization says that cancer rates could soar by up to 50 percent, or 15
million new cases per year, by 2020. Cancer is also increasing rapidly in
poorer and developing countries as these societies begin to pursue the
damaging western diet and lifestyle.
Robert Beaglehole, the World Health Organization's director of chronic
diseases and health promotion, estimated that up to 80 % of all cancer
deaths each year are in developing countries. At least 90% of cancers
that we see in the United States today are related, directly or indirectly, to
industrial and agricultural environmental contaminants. In other words,
90% of the suffering and death from cancer might never have happened
if environmental pollution from radioactivity and industrial toxins were
not there.
While many in developing countries succumb to viruses such as HIV,
Malaria and other debilitating diseases the dramatic increase in disease
related mortality has occurred due to the explosion of cancer. In fact,
this dramatic increase represents a 187% growth. Furthermore, over
70% of cancer deaths will occur in developing countries.
In his book “The Politics of Cancer”, Dr. Samuel Epstein, M.D. and
professor at the University of Illinois Medical Center concluded that:
“Cancer is essentially a preventable disease. Given high priority
the goal will be achieve:

Fifteen years after the publication of this book, an article in the Journal
of the American Medical Association came to the conclusion that “the
war on cancer is a failure”. The article also stated that cancer incidence
and death rates were rising. By then, the chances of getting non-
smoking-related cancers were double what our grandparent's odds were.
"In all age groups cancer was increasing.”
Although preventable, cancer remains the most elusive and feared
disease of our time. Our infatuation with fast foods, cars, computers,
mobile phones and a host of other popular yet extremely damaging
consumer products and services have blinded our intellect and
corrupted our minds. The words of Dr. Epstein still hold true today.
However, without truly analyzing and escaping our current perverted
reality, cancer will ravage our world and ultimately threaten our
existence.
