What is uPVC?
Unplastisized Polyvinyl chloride or 'uPVC' is a modern synthetic material and an important member of the extensive polymers 'family'. Formed from two natural resources - salt (57 per cent) and oil (43 per cent) - PVC was one of the earliest plastics to be developed commercially. Now it is among the most widely used, with an enormous variety of applications in modern life, from children's toys to pipes, window profiles, cables and blood bags. In 1996, world consumption amounted to an estimated 23.3 million tones, of which 5.21 million tones was in Western Europe.

Characteristics Of uPVC Windows / Doors by ZealCon
Energy Efficient
No matter what climate our windows and doors are used in - they contribute to a cozy and comfortable environment for your home. In a contemporary air-conditioned building, windows with a low thermal conductive material can reduce the loss of energy according to the fact that 37% of interior energy loss is through the window. The decisive factors of the thermal conductivity are the material of window profile and the selection of glass. The thermal conductivity of uPVC is 0.14 kcal/m.hr C, that is 1/1250 of Aluminum (175 kcal/m.hr C). ZealCon windows have been designed with multi chambers which also reduce the transfer of heat. The K value of ZealCon window is 1.4 kcal/m 2.hr C, and the K value of aluminum window is 16.3 kcal/m 2.hr C. For example, the K value of ZealCon window glazing with 5mm single pane is 4.5 kcal/m 2.hr C, but the K value of aluminum window with the same glass is 7.6 kcal/m 2.hr C. Therefore, ZealCon windows can reduce the energy loss over 30%, and is the best ENERGY SAVING WINDOW.

No. Even outwardly different windows can be completely different on the inside. How can I tell good quality uPVC?

One way to assess the effectiveness of a frame is to examine the thickness (depth from inside to out). Ideally choose 60 mm thickness and ask about the thickness of the PVC in the frame - a multi-walled (not solid) section should be 1.8 - 2.0 mm.
Where is uPVC used in construction?
