Pt lab values indicated a diet for diabetes that was well balanced The patient enjoyed most foods and especially beverages with particular attention to carbohydrates. The patient was offered complex carbohydrate meals with sugar substitutes. Patient is encourage and taught the importance of eating the meals prescribed and the consistency and pace of eating Evaluation of Clients Response to Interventions Patient was evaluated for consistency of foods and liquids and adjusted to a pureed diet with nectar thickened liquids. The patients lab values indicated the need for diabetic diet interventions and increased vitamins and mineral intake Encouraging the patients preference in meal planning helped to increase his intake of food. The patient ate more during breakfast and encouraging more variety of foods and a pace with proper consistency helped with his intake of nutrient rich foods and beverages
