    Letter dated 16 June 2011 from the Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General
    I have the honour to refer to the 18 and 19 March 2011 notifications of the United States of America to you regarding measures authorized by paragraphs 4 and 8 of Security Council resolution 1973 (2011) (S/2011/152 and S/2011/156). In accordance with paragraph 4 of resolution 1973 (2011), I would like to inform you that the United States is taking further measures pursuant to the authorizations contained in that paragraph. In this connection, I would like to inform you of the provision of non-lethal supplies and equipment to Libyan groups such as the Transitional National Council in support of efforts to protect civilians and civilian populated areas under threat of attack in Libya. I would be grateful if you would circulate the present letter as a document of the Security Council. (Signed) Susan E. Rice
