Ouick Installation Guide

Introduction
Four Simple Steps to Install a RADWIN Link This Quick Installation Guide is intended for Certied RADWIN Installers. Other users should refer to the RADWIN 2000 or WinLink 1000 User Manual for a full explanation of the installation procedure. A RADWIN link consists of two sides installed in two sites. Each side consists of an ODU as well as an IDU or PoE device. A mounting kit is supplied for each ODU. The installation process must be carried out for both sites.

Step I
Install the RADWIN Manager on your laptop or PC Insert the CD provided with the ODU into your CD/DVD drive. Click Install RADWIN Manager and follow the Installation Wizard instructions that appear on your screen.

Step II
ODU and IDU Hardware Installation For each site in turn 1. Mount the ODU on to a pole or a wall, using the supplied mounting kit. 2. Mount the external antennas, if used. 3. Ground the ODU and antenna. 4. Route the CAT5e cable from the ODU to the IDU. 5. Install the IDU in an indoor rack using the provided IDU brackets. 6. Ground the IDU. 7. Connect the ends of the CAT5e cable to the ODU and IDU. 8. Connect power to the IDU; the site is now powered on. After powering up the ODUs at both sites The ODU LED on each IDU will turn green. Both ODUs will start beeping.

Step III
Antenna Alignment For each site in turn Rotate the ODU or antenna slowly listening to the buzzer beep sequence until optimal alignment is achieved (the three-beep signal). Do not attempt to align both sites simultaneously. After acquiring a link the Link LED on the IDU will turn Orange (Install mode indication). 1800

Step IV
Installation wizard From either of the two sites, log in to the RADWIN Manager using the default IP address 10.0.0.120 and password admin. Run the Link Installation wizard. After completing the Link Installation wizard, the Link LED on the IDU will turn Green indicating Link active.

Use the RADWIN Manager to monitor link performance. Use the Link Budget Calculator to verify link performance. It can be accessed from the RADWIN Manager Help tab.
