Dear Selectmen, Enclosed you will find a copy of a letter from Lt. Leonard Campanello Assistant Chief of Police of the Saugus Police Department. I originally contacted the Saugus Police in hopes of obtaining a copy of a series of threatening phone calls in which I had received on my cell phone and reported to the Saugus Police on March 23, 2007. Lt. Stephen Sweezey took a copy of the threats and wrote up a report on the matter, it is contained in report 07-3619. In May of 2010 I was repeatedly told by Lt. Campanello that the tape did not exist and was threatened with arrest if I continued to request it or contact Chief Dimella on the matter. I also asked for assistance from the Essex County District Attorney s office in obtaining this tape and they assured me that it never existed. The fact that the threats were from a Rocco Talluto who is an associate of a Dr. Brian Awbrey who was illegally prescribing pills to pay his bills and has done the same with members of Law Enforcement concerns me. I am sure that is why the Saugus Police have done nothing about the threats I was receiving and tried to keep this tape from me in an attempt to cover up for their fellow Police Officers. As Selectman and the people who are in charge of Town Government I am reaching out to you to find out what obligations under State Law in which Lt. Campanello was referring to states that they do not have to maintain evidence in their possession. My messages left for The Town Manager Andrew Bisgnani have been ignored.
