Pollution is an undesirable change in the chemical, physical, or biological characteristics of nature.

Pollutant
Substance that is present in an excessive amount in the environment asa result at human activities. Pollutants have damaging effects on health. They are also harmful to other living organisms.

AIR POLLUTION Air pollution occurs when pollutants including smoke,dirt,dust and poisonous gases are released into the air endengering humans lives and other living organisms.

Effects of Air Pollution .

Building and property Sulphur dioxide,oxides of nitrogen,nitrogen dioxide causes acid rain, corrode and weaken buildings. Dust, smoke, fumes dirty building. Oxides of nitrogen cause fading of colours.

Agriculture Toxic gases lowers plant resistance towards diseases. Destroys plant tissue Failure to produce chlorophyll(chlorosis) Acd rain lowers soil acidity,makes soil unsuitable for farming.

Effects of air pollution on weather Sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, oxides of nitrogen cause acid rain. Smoke and haze cause high temperature and unclear vision. Carbon dioxide raises Earths temperature,causes greenhouse-effect and polar ice melts causing floods.

WATER POLLUTION
Disharging industrial wastes,agriculture waste,dosmetik wastes and sewage into rivers contribute to water pollution. Thus,causing the water to be unsafe for humans can consumption as well as endangering the lives of aquatik organisms.
