Teacher ICT Capabilities Survey

There are three versions of the survey: the Teacher ICT Capabilities Survey the Non-Teaching ICT Capabilities Survey the Special Settings Teacher ICT Capabilities Survey

The Teacher ICT Capabilities survey has been designed for measuring the ICT capabilities of active teachers. To maintain the integrity of this survey, non-teaching staff such as principals, admin staff and office staff should not respond to the survey. For staff with non-teaching roles, the Non-Teaching ICT Capabilities survey has been developed. The non-teaching version of the survey is designed under a different framework and does not fit within the ePotential Continuum. School leaders will decide which survey is appropriate for each member of staff. Information on which survey is most suitable for your staff members to take can be found in the ePotential User Guide: ePotential Survey. It is recommended that teachers complete the Survey at the beginning of the school year. After completing the survey (approx 20 mins) results will appear highlighted within the Continuum.

eLearning Bank of Resources

ePotential is home to a bank of Resources that are useful in supporting the integration of ICT into teaching and learning. While the Teacher ICT Capabilities Survey and the interactive Continuum are both key tools guiding the selection of resources to browse, it is possible to browse independently for resources that match your key criteria or search terms. Every resource is downloadable or viewable from your web browser. The resources have been produced and shared by teachers from many educational settings in an attempt to support and guide each other in the effective integration of eLearning.

The ePotential Reflection Journal

The Reflections Journal has been dynamically integrated throughout ePotential to make it easy for you to record what you have found and note any thoughts you might have as you move through the application. For example, you may like to mark an area of the Continuum that you would like to use later in the year, or record a good idea about how you will use a resource.

You can return to your ePotential Journal at any time to view your entries.

Confidential Survey Reports

Individual surveys remain private and viewable only by the recipient. To ensure the privacy of recipients, only those completing the survey are able to see their individual responses and results. Principals are able to create school reports when there are more than three teachers within any cohort. Although the survey is not designed to be a performance measure, if interested individuals can compare their profile to the state average. This comparison report will change as the number of teachers completing the survey increases. Teachers can come back to their report at any time to see the latest state aggregation of results for comparison against their survey responses.

School and Regional Comparison Reports

The Teacher ICT Capabilities survey will be completed by teachers across the state each year. As a Principal, Regional Manager or Principal delegate you are provided with additional functionality allowing you to view filtered survey results and make comparisons at a state, region or school level to inform or update your eLearning Plan. You can generate useful information with the Comparison Report function. You can compare different surveys (last years with this years), and compare demographic subsets within your school (roles, years of service etc) and compare summary levels (your school with the state). You can also view a report for your School only (no comparison), for example you might want to view your regions averages for planning professional development. You can also filter the reports to view or compare different demographic response groups. For example, you might want to find out how teachers at your school who have been given laptops compare with teachers who were not given them. You can view the raw responses to each survey question by viewing the Survey Results report. This is a useful way of looking for quantitative data such as, how many teachers are actually using movie editing equipment or digital video cameras or webcams?
