LifeWatch LifeStar ACT Ex Heart Rhythm Monitor


The following instructions are supplemental instructions we provide in addition to those provided by LifeWatch found in the box. If you still have questions after reading this sheet and the manual, call according to the following guidelines.

When to call:

technician, press and hold the POWER button on the cell phone for 5 seconds until screen lights up (see right). 6) If the monitor does not automatically begin, press the End Call button, select Start, and then choose the ACT Monitor program (top left of the screen). 7) Follow the instructions on the cell phone screen as service is being activated.

NOTE:
Do not use the cell phone to make outgoing calls other than an emergency call to 911. Outgoing calls will be billed directly to the patient by LifeWatch. When monitoring, always remain within 10 feet of your cell phone. Replace electrode stickers every day or when the adhesive is not firmly attached to skin. Replace the batteries of the sensor every 2-3 days. Only use the batteries that are provided by LifeWatch (below left). Recharge your cell phone every night (below right). Once again, make sure your sensor remains closer than 10 feet from your recharging cell phone at night. Check your phone every 5 hours by pressing any button to verify the beating heart. The screen shown below (center) will appear on the cell phone if a lead wire has become disconnected. To resolve make sure all electrodes and lead wires are securely attached.

If you experience an episode that requires the doctors attention Please call 911 in an emergency

SETTING UP YOUR MONITOR:


1) Attach sensor cables to the electrode stickers. 2) Clean your skin with rubbing alcohol where the electrodes will be placed. 3) Place electrodes on your chest as shown by the diagram. 4) Activate the LifeWatch service by calling 800-517-6330. DO NOT use the LifeStar ACT cell phone to make this call. 5) When instructed by a LifeWatch

RETURNING THE MONITOR:


Insert the sensor and cell phone into the plastic bubble-wrap bag, and place the bag in the box. Place the box, with its contents, in the return envelope provided by LifeWatch. The postage has been prepaid.
