Dear Prof. Dr. Peter Samuelsson, Please accept the accompanying degrees, transcripts, CV and English proficiency proof as my application for the Doctoral student position at Department of Physics, Lund University, Sweden. I came across vacancy announcement at www.lu.se. The position requires simulations and theoretical analysis of quantum-mechanical systems such as cold atomic quantum gases in traps, and nanostructured quantum systems with the methods of many-body quantum physics. I am highly motivated and very competent in my academic and inter-personal skills. I understand the sense of commitment, hard work, sensitivity, and passion desired to work in a graduate research laboratory. The purpose of a doctorate is to acquire expertise to create knowledge for society. I believe I would prove a valuable asset to your research group through my skills. I find the project exciting as it is foundation for realization of future quantum mechanical nano-electronic devices. I have MS degree (2010) in Physics with experience in growth and characterization of nanostructures, both theoretically and experimentally for doped silicon nanowires. I have worked with Sentaurus TCAD for simulation of fabrication of micro and nanostructure devices in the course project, simulation of comparative boron diffusion in Si and Si-Ge strained layers, during my MS degree. Currently, I am working as a lecturer at COMSATS IIT (for details: http://ww2.ciitisb.edu.pk/faculty/FacultyDetails.aspx?Uid=591). I have experience of teaching different undergraduate courses as well. I would greatly benefit from a position such as this since it would be a new prospect to consider as a path that enticed me to explore in my last thesis.
