JOB ANNUNOUNCEMENT

Location: Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Washington, DC Position: Part-Time Science Teacher Reports to: Science Department Chair; Academic Dean Start Date: August 15, 2011 (Position will remain open until filled) Position description: The Duke Ellington School of the Arts is seeking a part-time Science teacher for the 2011-2012 school year. Individual will be responsible for teaching one (1) Chemistry class and two (2) Environmental Science classes to high school students. The part-time teacher will commit to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. The possibility of a future full-time position exists, for the right candidate. Salary is commensurate with experience and is negotiated with the head of school.

Education/Experience Requirements: A successful candidate must possess at least a bachelors degree in at least one of the following areas: Integrated Science, General Science, Chemistry or Physics. A masters degree is preferred. Math majors, with a science minor that includes study in either Chemistry and/or Environmental Science will also be considered.
