Nokia Flexi Node B WBTS Commissioning Quick Reference Guide

Information needed from Optus: BTS ID TRS (AXC) IP address and Subnet mask BTS (MWAM) IP address Gateway (SAXC) IP address RNC IP address NTP Server IP address (usually 172.18.40.206 in Vic) Scrambling codes (1 per cell) Before connecting to WBTS, change laptop IP address as follows Start menu => Settings => Network and dialup connections Right click Local Area Connection => Properties Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties Select Use the following IP address Input these addresses IP 192.168.255.130 Mask 255.255.0.0 Gate 192.168.255.129 Click OK then restart Laptop Launch BTS Site Manager Click Connect (user name and password NOT required) Update BTS Software Select Software => Update SW to BTS Site Click Select File Browse to location of TARGETBD_WNxxxxxxxx (latest version) Highlight this file and click Open Tick Activate SW after update Click Update This will take up to 20 minutes, if the download fails update again. Click Close to return to main screen Commissioning Before starting ensure that all the relevant information from Optus is available Click Commissioning on side bar (this will start wizard) Select Target BTS Site and Commissioning type Manual => Next Define Site Properties Enter Site name, Location and Description (e.g.. 1x1x1 2E1) in fields Enter the BTS ID in field, This will create the A2EA number Enter all IP addresses including addresses via DHCP => Next Define Physical layer configuration 64575759.doc Created on 28/02/2008 21:29:00 of 8 Page 1

Select Interface Type (E1), tick interfaces in use and CRC on Synchronisation is Primary on IF1 and Secondary on IF2 IMA Group for all IF is IMA Group 33 => Next Define Traffic Descriptors Traffic Descriptors depend on the number of E1s in use and whether an AAL2MUX is in use at site DCN UBR as per chart (full capacity of E1s) VP 0 - UBR as per chart (full capacity of E1s) VP 1 - CBR.1 - as per chart AAL2UP CBR.1 - as per chart C-NBAP - CBR.1 - as per chart D-NBAP - CBR.1 - as per chart AAL2 SIG - CBR.1 - as per chart => Next Define IUB Terminations to BTS Tick IUB Terminations via One Virtual Path ATM Virtual path towards RNC Insert IF 1 VPI 1 VP TRDE VP 1 Common NBAP Insert VCI 33 VC TRDE C-NBAP Dedicated NBAP Insert VCI 34 VC TRDE D-NBAP AAL2 Signalling Insert VCI 35 VC TRDE AAL2 SIG AAL2 User Parts Insert VCI 36 VC TRDE AAL2UP => Next Define DCN Interfaces ATM DCN Interface ATM Parameters ATM Interface IF 1 VPI 0 VP TRDE DCN VCI 32 VC TRDE VP 0 Destination address should be automatically filled in => Next Define BTS Settings Insert Installers name, Site name and config HSDPA allocation tick BTS Module Locations as per site drawing, e.g. shelter rack location (optional) => Next Define User Defined passive units if required => Next Define Local Cell Resources Click New Cell assign Cell number e.g. 1,2,3 etc Select Antennas to be used by Cell and Carrier power Do this for each cell => Next Define Local Cell Settings Tick RNC Type Nokia 64575759.doc Created on 28/02/2008 21:29:00 of 8 Page 2

Define WCDMA Carrier Candidates Input UARFCN for each Cell (usually 10737 for all cells) => Next Define Antenna Line Settings Highlight Antenna 1 in list MHA Settings tick only if Nokia MHA In Use Most sites use other vendor equipment so Do Not Tick Antenna settings insert Feeder Loss => Next Define External Alarms as attached document => Next Note: Eltek alarms only used if additional Eltek power system installed for Node B Sending Parameters to BTS Click Save Parameters => give file name and location Click View Parameters if all OK continue, otherwise go Back and modify Click Send Parameters After sending site will reset and Next button will become enabled => Next Define User Authentication User Authentication should be disabled => Next Site Testing Some tests can be performed depending on the state of the BTS integration to RAN => Next Commissioning Report Click on Disk symbol to save a copy of the commissioning report to file Click Finish to conclude commissioning Site is now ready for Integration.

To clear enter 10 x 0 (0000000000) Page 81.01 allows you to force the phone to 3G, 2G or Dual.

Where Eltek is not present only alarms 1 & 3 are required. 1. 3G MHA Alarm 2. Vacant 3. Mains Break Normally closed Normally closed Major Critical.

Use a template that has Eltek alarms already programmed and untick the in use box for all the unused Eltek alarms. Mains Break alarm is taken from shelter Mains Fail alarm, and double jumpered.
