Outside By Thomas Fullmer Cattle die in droves upon the heated plain.

Hear their death cries bleat fallen without any rain. In the ranch house the widow mourns every single one. Baked raw to the bone beneath the merciless sun. In far off mountains streams gurgle with winter snows. To desert lands they bring to blossom as a rose. Rains fall on verdant glen, causes abundance to be, The wild things find shelter beneath the old oak tree. A baby girl is snatched from a five month womb. Forced so early on earth to face this lifes gloom. Did she come to mortality too awfully soon. What will be her future? Will life be her doom? A man seeks to serve his God each day. Reaches inside for the words to say. To bear his pure holy testimony. Without his doubts to make him sound phony. Are we here lost on a cosmic sea? Float forlorn in a ship for eternity. Or do we know from whence we came? Or lost amidst mortalitys shame? What is this life we hold so dear? Lost in our thoughts consumed by fear. Of what we really dont have inside. From these frightful truths we try to hide. Is God real or is he just a myth? Where is your faith to believe with? In technology to save your sordid soul, Or in the morality that you should know Will raise you, lift you to celestial heights, Or in religion endure the bloody fights, Between the factions who war for truth, Without insight that gives us proof, Of what is real what is vital. Take a mood enhancer or a mydol. A cure for the soul can never be Anything less than to set us free,

From worries and from daily strife, The plagues and illnesses of this life. Look to the widow in the old ranch house, Be kind to her and never be a stingy louse. Pray for the babe who came to soon. Stop and listen to the song of the loon. Live each day as if there is still worth, In each cherished breath and joy of the hearth. Life is a serendipitous, so it you should cherish, Find joy in love and your memory wont perish, Of precious things that raise you up inside. You can see it all if you just look outside.
