Apple employees enjoy the luxury of a relaxed, casually dressed work environment.

Canadians at Apple, and Apple Hispanic Association. Apple prefers to partner with groups who

agree with their commitments. The Executive Leadership Council, Human Rights Campaign,

Society of Women Engineers, and Students Rising Above are just a few of these partners

(Commitment to, 2008).

According to the Apple website, “environmental protection is a priority for the

conservation of precious natural resources and the continued health of our planet. Apple

recognizes its responsibility as a global citizen and is continually striving to reduce the

environmental impact of the work we do and the products we create.” Apple prefers to pay

particular attention to product design, responsible manufacturing, energy efficiency, and

recycling. The flat panel displays consume up to 80% less energy in sleep mode ever since the

decision to get rid of cathode ray tubes in its product design. Apple started a take-back program

in many different countries where apple customers can dispose of their old Apple equipment to

be recycled. So far, they have diverted over 34 million pounds of electronic equipment from

landfills worldwide (Apple and, 2008).
