SUMMER TRAINING FOR FIRST YEAR ENGINEERING STUDENTS As we informed you in October, first-year Engineering students are required

d to attend a five-week training course at MCAST. Students are required to keep a log book which will be provided by the Faculty, and at the end of the course will be given the due recognition as long as they have at least an 80% attendance record. The course counts towards the training period required by law to obtain an Engineers warrant. The course is free, being paid for by the University. The course will run from Monday 11th July to Friday 12th August, 2011 from 8.30a.m. to 3.00p.m with a half hour break for lunch. All students are required to register for this training by filling in the form below and returning it to the Faculty Office by not later than Friday, 24th June, 2011 Students will be only excused if: i) ii) iii) they have an HTD or equivalent, or sufficient previous industrial experience; they are repeaters and have already done the course; they have abandoned or intend to abandon the course.

In any case students are still required to fill in this form and return it to the Faculty Office. Note: you may collect your log-book from the Faculty Office.
