Soon hundreds of inmates throughout California joined them in the strike. They ended the strike after the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said that they would make some small changes. However, in a letter to KQED Michael Montgomery one of the leaders of the protests says that changes have not been made.
KQED has not verified statements made in the letter. The CDCR official named in the letter is Scott Kernan.
