Kathmandu Model College (KMC), established in 2000, has its own educational network which consists of the Higher Secondary Level and Bachelor Level Programs such as +2, BBA, BBS and BA. Other programs that come under the network are MA (English), MBS and KMC School, a junior wing of KMC, that runs classes from playgroup to class X. since May 2007 Himalaya College of Engineering, affiliated to T.U. has come under the umbrella of KMC network. KMC, which has today become a top ranking college in the nation, is hereby pleased to declare that New Summit College (NSC) has also become the part of KMC Educational Network. NSC runs academic programs: +2 level science, management and humanities (affiliated to HSEB), GCE A - Level (affiliated to Cambridge University), Bachelor in Business Studies (BBS) and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSc.CSIT) affiliated to T.U. Since then I have been looking forward with both anticipation and excitement at what the future will bring. new Summit College

New Summit College is a wellestablished educational institution in the prime location of Kathmandu city. It runs as an associate of KMC Educational Network, a team of young and dynamic educators consisting of scholars, educationalists and professionals. NSC was established in 2055 with higher secondary programs in science, management and humanities. The College has successfully marked its glorious academic history of 13 years. Currently the college has six different academic programs in operation. It runs + 2 Programs in Science, Management and Humanities (affiliated to Higher Secondary Education Board), GCE A Level (affiliated to Cambridge University) and Bachelors Level programs such as BSc CSIT and BBS (affiliated to Tribhuvan University). The academic result of the college has been consistently excellent throughout its history. Mr. Akash Lohia (86.8%) and Mr. Ashis Karmacharya (86.2%) stood second and third position respectively from science faculty in the HSEB exam 2066. The excellence of students is not confined only to the premises of the college. They have won partial and full scholarships to different universities of home and abroad in diverse subjects.

GCE A-Level
introduction
A-Level program known as GCE (General Certificate of Education) is affiliated to University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. This program has earned world-wide popularity and it is taught in as many as 125 countries. The A-Level program is equivalent to +2, curriculum in Nepal. This two years course has two sections. Advance Subsidiary (AS) is the first part of A-level while Advance Level (A2) is second part of the course. International A Level examinations are managed by CIE (Cambridge International Examination), a division of Cambridge Assessment. CIE organizes these examinations twice a year, the first one in May/june and second one in October / November.

To achieve the target objective of active learning, attendance and evaluation are the integral parts of regular study program. n Students must have a minimum of 90 percent attendance of total working days. n Students must participate in three unit and three terminal tests of the college. n Students must pass the internal examinations in order to qualify for the final examinations. n Students progress report will be conveyed to guardians.

hostels
NSC provides separate hostel facilities for girls and boys. It is facilitated with hygienic food, intensive care, study support, sports and entertainment.

The college runs a number of buses for easy transportation of students in and around ring road at a very reasonable cost.

Extra Curricular Activities

nSc regularly organizes creative writing competitions among the students of all programs throughout the academic session. Students are mobilized to participate in social awareness development functions, publish monthly bulletins and annual college souvenir. in addition, the college organizes various contests like debates, quizzes, music and singing to groom out their talent and skills.

The college has established official links with many business houses in and out of Kathmandu valley so that students can visit and learn about various aspects of operations. The college provides up-dated and rich library to facilitate the teaching-learning process. It has a wide collection of books, periodicals, videos and CD-ROMs. Students are also facilitated with its materials and e-library.

Promoting active participation in social events, the college instills a noble concept of social responsibility in the mind of its students. To materialize this concept, the college will encourage its students to lend supportive hands to the needed section in our immediate vicinity and marginal areas of the country.

The college has two separate well equipped computer labs with unlimited internet facility. Basically students of computer science in +2 program and BSc (CSIT) utilize this lab for their practical and other students for presentations, report writing and downloading reference materials.

Himalayan College of Engineering (HCOE) is one of the eight engineering colleges affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU). Established in june 2000 AD, the College has been producing qualified engineers in the country who are the backbone of development. The four programs of the Institute of Engineering (IOE), (TU) being implemented in the College are Bachelor of Engineering in Computer, Electronics and Communication and Civil, and Bachelor of Architecture. The college has been associated with Kathmandu Model College (KMC) since May 2007. It has expended programs, and gained strength since its association with KMC. The BE civil engineering was introduced in 2008 AD. The College is able to maintain rewarding academic achievements. Mr. Pratap Sapkota obtained the highest percentage (87.7%) in 3rd year, 1st semester of BE Computer in IOE exam, 2065. The College is proud of all the students who have passed out and have got well-deserved positions in different institutions in home and abroad.

kmc School, Shankhamul

new Baneshwor KMC School is a junior wing of Kathmandu Model College. Within four years of establishment, it has proved its academic excellence from the very beginning. The SLC result of 2066 BS bears this out as all the 44 students who appeared at the SLC exam have passed with distinction. The school is located at Shankhamul, New Baneshwor in a peaceful area away from pollution overlooking open space and greeneries around it. About 1200 students study from play group to class 10 at the school.
