In the above diagnostic result, hematology report, it shows that the component that was altered was mainly of the WBC count. An increase in the WBC count indicates that there is infection or inflammation going on inside the body. An increased proportion of neutrophils in the blood is a common finding with acute bacterial infections and it also suggests acute inflammation. A low lymphocyte count indicates that the body's resistance to fight infection has been substantially lost and one may become more susceptible to certain types of infection. Low monocyte count means that you are more susceptible to infections since you don't have enough anti bodies that will defend you from viruses, bacteria and other unwelcome organisms. Blood test is used to make sure that there is no other process going on, such as infection or a different malignant process.
