Matthew 18:15-20
Todays gospel passage can be summed up by Saint Paul in the second reading Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another. (Rom 13:8) When we love, we are willing to seek reconciliation and forgive those who have hurt us. When we love, we would heed the advice of Jesus in todays gospel, and be responsible for one another, correcting any wrong if necessary, even though this may be a difficult task to do as it may be further misinterpreted or misunderstood. But when we truly love, we would be willing to risk speaking the truth, and be ready for any outcome, confident that the growth and well being of the person is more important than what others think of us. When we love, we would Unity is one of the fruits of love and understanding. Unity is so greatly valued by Jesus that he promises when two or three are united in asking for anything, it would be granted by his and our Heavenly Father. Further, he adds that when two or three are gathered in his name, he would be in our midst. Love, unity, Jesus they go together. May we always seek reconciliation in love and be one with each other and in the Lord. take steps and find means to seek understanding, peace and unity. Sr Wendy Ooi, fsp

Buona Domenica is Back!

It has been quite an interesting and eventful August. Some of you may have known, I was away with some young adults at Madrid for the World Youth Day, followed by 5 days in Rome. It was quite an experience to meet thousands and thousands of young people from all over the world. All so excited to see each other along the road, greeting each other, finding out which countries we are from and taking pictures. I have never seen people so excited to see our flag and even wanting to have one for themselves. This is where the exchange of gifts starts. Everyone seems so at home, cheering and shouting, singing and dancing. Even in the metro, groups will be cheering with those on the opposite side until the train comes. Metros and buses packed with people like sardines, forgetting about the heat and perspirations. Such are our young people, the future of the Church. The most inspiring thing is their cheers to our Holy Father. Never grow tired, never grow soft, but ever increasingly loud and enthusiastic. May their faith continue to grow with such enthusiasm and zeal for Christ and His people.
