Project Name: Project Rainbow Client Industry: FMCG Project Summary The project established a medium term site strategy for the 10 of Ramadan site (outskirts of Cairo) taking cognisance of commercial forecasts as well as manufacturing, site services, warehousing capacity and site logistics capacity and capability. The site strategies of all the plants in the region will guide capital investment decisions.

Project Background Cadbury Adams Egypt is a consolidated business of Cadbury Egypt, Bim-Bim (acquired in 1996) and Adams (acquired in 2003). The business currently has two manufacturing sites in Egypt, namely 10th of Ramadan (manufacturing sugar and chocolate confectionary) and Alexandria (manufacturing legacy Adams products). th Cadbury Egypt and especially the product range manufactured in the 10 of Ramadan site is currently experiencing double-digit volume growth. A site strategy was therefore required to quantify the impact on the site in order for the business to invest timely and wisely to meet market growth requirements.

Project Objectives Consolidating the commercial strategy and translating that into supply requirements. Comparing supply requirements with current manufacturing, site services, storage and site logistics capacity and capability. Formulating high-level site alternatives to address manufacturing, site services, storage and site logistics shortcomings.

Project Outcomes

A consolidated site strategy for 3 (low, medium and high) growth scenarios Quantification of storage requirements and possible site capacity. High level layout and flow alternatives

A consolidated site strategy for manufacturing capacity & capability, warehouse requirements, site logistic requirements. The site strategy will be used as inputs for various alternatives which include expansion, consolidation or new operations.
