4.2.1 The length of the supports and the width of the mandrel 'shall be' greater than the width or diameter of the test piece. The diameter of the mandrel is determined by the material. standard. The test piece supports shall be rounded to a radius between 1 and 10 times the thick- ness of the test piece and shall be sufficientlyhai-d{ see Fig. 1 ). 6
