SUMMARY OF PROCESES OBSERVED The CCA distribution centre located at Mentone is world class automated facility specially designed

for bevage industry. With its unique end to end technology, this facility is among the best that Cococola has world wide. Swisslog build the design of the warehouse by combining proven technologies with site limitations and providing the most cost-effective solution for enhanced performance and safety. The facility had most advanced technologies employed in the warehouse systems by including features such as: 1. Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS)- It increases pallet carrying capacity in the warehouse as the pallets are stored in the racking design which reduces the limitation of limited on site space. 2. Stacker cranes 3. Shuttle cart 4. Monorail system- It allows receiving, staging and storing of pallents in more efficient and effective manner. 5. Automated pallet wrappers- Outgoing pallets are wrapped according to company requiremant 6. Automated pallet conveyors and 7. Features 36,000 pallet positions or approximately 35 million bevarge containers Orders are either completed by fast moving picking equipment or by manual picking. Orders are either part or full pallet, once completed,they are dispatched via 10 flow storage lanes 15 pallets deep. The operation hours of warehouse is 24 hours five days per week and 6 days in peak seasons. All the operations such as pallet movement, equipments of the warehouse are managed by the staff in the control tower. All incoming and outgoing pallets are scanned and identified by their unique identifiers such as Barcode to monitor and move them accordingly. This automated facility has numerous advantages such as increased accuracy, reduced operating cost, reduced lead time, etc. However it disadvantages include high starting investment, high maintaince cost, high specialist professional cost, etc.
