Work sheet – Self Esteem

Space for writing insights received:

Self-esteem is the value I put on myself. It is the feeling that I am an important person. It is the
thinking that I am a capable person. It is the foundation for emotional health and self
confidence….
• God has created me in His image and likeness. (Gen 1:26-27) I am a unique child of God. I am
precious in the Lord’s sight, I am honoured, and I am loved by God and I can love others. I shall
not fear, for the Lord is with me always. (Is 43:4-5) I know my shortcomings, they are before me,
but they do not put me down because Jesus is with me. “I can do all things through Christ who
strengthens me” (Phil 4:13). Thank you Lord for making me “me”. – Repeat these truths as many
times as you want to, add on to it and make it your own affirmations about yourself.
• Write ten affirmations about yourself overleaf, rewrite three strong points below.
(eg: “I am a very good _______”, “I can _____ well”, “I am __________”, etc.)

• Share your 3 strong points to your friends

Write below the good things that others say about you. (List at least 3)

• Share in your group what good things others say about you
Find out the opportunities in front of you for building yourself.

List the areas where you feel that you are not so confident/ you are weak.

• Rewrite the above weak area with an affirmative statement. (eg: If I am a very shy person, rewrite
as “I am a bold person in Jesus” or “I can do it through Christ who strengthens me”. Say it loudly
with action (like raising your hand or holding your fist). Use the other side of the work sheet if
required.
