FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is More Than We Can Imagine?

A three-year capital stewardship campaign designed to raise the necessary funds to construct a designated worship facility and renovate our current building to develop an expanded fine arts curriculum.

What is the goal of the campaign?

$2,000,000 above regular giving over the next three years.

If we reach the $2 million goal, what will we build?

A multi-purpose worship center for worship, bible class, fellowship needs, meeting rooms, office space, and childrens ministry. We will also reconfigure the upstairs portion of our current facility for an expanded fine arts wing for our school, church members, and community.

Where will the worship facility be built?

The building site is located in the bowl as you enter the 1st parking lot, where the outdoor chapel is located. The main access to the sanctuary will be located on the upper lot. The front of Church will face Hwy 74 and provide greater exposure to the Peachtree City community and beyond.

Why a capital stewardship campaign now? Is it really needed?

Worship attendance, ministries, school enrollment, and kingdom growth continue to grow Limited ministry space, meeting rooms, and parking spaces are limiting current and future ministries. With expanded parking, a remodel of the current building, and a dedicated worship facility, we will be able to offer a wide range of ministry opportunities for our members, school families, and into our community.

Didnt we just have a Capital Stewardship Campaign? Is that still on-going?

Strong and Courageous, was a three year campaign that began in 2005. This campaign was designed to reduce our current debt structure for future opportunities of ministry and expansion. Through periodic reductions of our loan principle we were able to reduce our mortgage payment, lower our monthly expenses and provide more dollars for current and future ministry needs. Our goal was $1 million and we received $550,000 in pledges. We are still receiving funds for this campaign and have collected over $450,000. The Strong and Courageous campaign reduced our monthly mortgage payment (principal and interest) from $33,000 per month to $26,000 per month and gave us the ability to work with our lender in meeting financial challenges during a struggling economy.

What is our current debt and why would we not pay down our outstanding debt with whatever is provided, and borrow new money at a much lower interest rate for the new project?
Our current debt is approximately $4.6 million. We are currently paying interest only on our mortgage but are working with our lender to include principal payments. Our space and ministry

limitations are hindering future growth. We have delayed this campaign for 2 years but now believe that God is calling us to step out in faith to begin this campaign. Our leadership is firmly committed to not moving forward with building endeavors until we have the necessary funding through this capital campaign.

What will happen to the funds if the total amount of $2,000,000 is not fully raised?

If the $2 million is not raised, the staff and leadership at St. Paul will provide a plan for expansion opportunities based on the funds raised for congregational approval and authorization.

How are we going to reach the $2million goal of the campaign?

A gift profile has been created specifically for St. Paul Lutheran ministries. Different levels of giving will provide the financial resources to reach the $2million goal. Remember, this campaign is not about equal giving, but equal sacrifice

How do I determine what I should give?

Only you can make that decision. We encourage everyone to go to God in prayer and ask for His guidance. Your gift should be one of sacrifice and faith made from a willing heart. In your prayers, ask the question, God, what are you calling me (our family) to do in regard to this campaign over the next three years in partnering with the rest of the St. Paul family to raise this $2 million? 2 Corinthians 8 and 9 are great chapters to help you as you seek out Gods guidance in this process. Know that people within our church family are praying for you and hope that as a result of this process you will experience an ever flowing joy of generosity through Gods grace.
