Car Purchasing Behaviour in Anand District of Gujarat- An Empirical Study

ABSTRACT

India is the second most populous country in the world with a population of over 1.21 billion. India remains a poor country but a fast growing developing country. In the world there is great expectation that India will within a few decades become a developed country, an economic super power by growing rapid and consistently from now. So, foreigners are keenly investing in India to the extent they are allowed by the Govt. of India. Automobile industry is booming in this century. India is one of the key players in the international automobile market. One of the fastest growing sectors in India is the automobile industry. High demand for cars, two wheelers and other vehicles has driven the growth of the automobile sector .Introduction of easy repayment and finance schemes has given a boost to the automobile companies in India. The list below gives the name of the best automobile companies in India. This study aims to give an overview on young consumers car purchase behavior This study is mainly focused on Anand District young people. Both primary and secondary data were gathered during the research. The results show that car purchasing decision is an important decision for most of Indian consumers. Consumers get information from different channels, car sales staff, Internet, family/friend (word of mouth), car shows etc, but with the rapid development of Internet, a lot of consumers start to use Internet to get car information that Internet has become Second wisely used channel to get information in this study. The results of this study tells show which factor consumers will be taken into account while purchasing car like safety, value of money mileage, riding comfort etc. This paper will also focus on belief and attitude of consumer towards buying Car.
