Centers A. Every center is set up to help the child develop the skills and concepts listed above. B. Centers are added to and changed on a regular basis to supplement the curriculum. IV. Additional Activities A. Physical Education Program a. meet twice a week with the p.e. teacher B. Important Preschool Information A. Children must be potty trained by September. B. Please arrive at school between 8:15 and 8:30. This is our free choice time and it is a good opportunity for the children to make a smooth transition. Our school day begins at 8:30. It can be very disruptive to have children arriving during instructional time. C. Good-byes are sometimes difficult for both parent and child. A reassuring hug, a promise to see you later and a confident and swift exit is best. D. Birthday parties are after nap at 2:30. E. Parent involvement can make or break a days lesson plans. Please help your child gain the most from our program 1. send in items needed during the week 2. stuffed animals and books are always welcome 3. sign up to bring things for special events F. Classroom Management 1. we provide a stimulating environment with an abundance of materials for all children 2. we encourage the children to talk to each other about their disagreements and to come up with solutions 3. we redirect the children as needed 4. a special spot will be provided when a child needs to get away from the group and have some quiet time

Circle 1. Circle time is an instructional time where the children are greeted while sitting together. The routine consists of going over the calendar, the weather, class helpers, and introducing the topic of the day with stories, songs, fingerplays, and movement Special Activity Days 1. The preschool classes break up into four rotating groups and explore a theme through math, language arts, art, cooking, manipulatives, games, dramatic play, music, stories, movement, etc.
