*The general public in Perth as toxic chemical can flow into our water supply when dumped in landfills. *People living in close proximity to landfills *Asian countries as they are the major importers of E-Waste (85% of E-Waste is exported from Australia) *Workers in Asian countries who disassemble E-Waste as they are exposed to the harmful chemicals each day. *Landfill workers and rubbish truck drivers as they are also exposed to the harmful chemicals on a daily basis. *The entire world because E-Waste damages the atmosphere which leads to an unhealthy planet and society. *A great portion of E-Waste is burnt, letting harmful chemicals such as lead, cadmium, mercury, plastic, PVC, barium, beryllium and carcinogens such as carbon black and heavy metals into our atmosphere.
Situation: Increasing amount of e-waste being produced, becoming a growing concern for environmentalists as the e-waste lifecycle is very unsustainable and toxic for land or people depending on how it is dealt if not processed correctly. Sensitive solution for community needs: Easy hassle free solution to disposing of e-waste while also providing a source of instant gratification (monetary benefit) which will increase the recycling rate and provide people with an incentive to recycle.
