Assignment Outline

Our solar system is a huge and marvellous system, but it can be tricky to understand just how big it is, and how it all works. You will be required to briefly explain the sizes of the planets, the distances between them, and the movements of the major objects in the solar system. You should also explain how night and day come about here on earth. You will do this using either a podcast of 3-5 minutes, an A3 poster or A4 tri-fold pamphlet, or a model of size 1m by 0.5m or less. By the Friday of week one (Friday October 21th), you should have completed your Student Contract and handed it in. This will form the first part of your assessment. Following this, you will need to hand in a written Interim Report (Friday October 28th) that explains how you intend to complete the task, and outlines at least three goals you have set yourself to achieve by specific times (to ensure you dont accidentally leave everything up to the last minute!). Your final project will be due on Thursday November 10th.
