In this age of globalization and liberalization of the economy, the significant changes in human behavior and their values, and competition among organizations has increased. Stress is the order of the day and it is impossible to be entirely without stress. To identify the work stress faced by the employees and their response would benefit the organization to take remedial measures in or order to overcome it. To identify factors inducing stress. To study the relationship if any, between age, gender and experience and the level of stress. To offer suggestions to the management to manage stress effectively. The study intends to identify those factors that create stress. The output can be enhanced when stress is managed through effective measures. The study is based on the presumption that if the employees were less satisfied with work and working conditions, then there would be more chances of them being stressed. By assessing the stress conditions, remedies can be suggested to overcome stress. Stress is a disease of modern times. It afflicts all the people regardless of their station in life; rich or poor, literate or illiterate, men or women. Stress is more evident and is probably more widespread in technologically advanced countries and is common among highly qualified professionals.
