Scraper Gadget Instructions:

Parts list: 1 x 2 x 13.5 dimensional lumber: (2) each #8 x 1.5 at head wood screw: (4) each #10 at washer: (4) each Optional Wood oil or lacquer nish .5 oz. Making a Scraper Gadget (or a few for your friends) is the height of simplicity, which if (like me) you are not only cheap, you are also a hack at wood working.

1.) Cut a 1 x 2 into two (2) 13.5 long pieces.

2.) Form a right angle with the two pieces, lining up the edges and ends, and clamp.

3.) Drill two (2) 1/16 pilot holes from the base piece into the upper piece, inch from the end and from the edge. The holes should be at least 1.25 inches long. Make sure your drill is parallel with the upper piece so that the screw does not break out of the wood or crack it.

4.) (optional) Drill two (2) more holes from the base piece down- parallel to the upper piece. inches from the opposite edge as the rst holes (allows mounting to bench top).

5.) Using a Phillips Head driver bit in your drill motor, countersink all four holes so that the screw head will become ush or recessed upon completion.

6.) Insert two (2) #8 x 1.5 screws into the holes drilled in step three and tighten them way so that half of the thread are still visible.

7.) Remove the clamps.

8.) Loosen one screw enough that the upper piece can move slightly, and add two (2) #10 washers to the screw. Then tighten the screw until the head is ush or recessed slightly and tight.

9.) Repeat step 8 on the opposite screw. 10). (optional) Sand and nish the Scraper Gadget.

11.) (optional) Using the two remaining screw holes (step #4), attach the Scraper Gadget to your work bench. 12.) Add the abrasive sheet of your choice. Dry Wall Screen is considered ideal by Coach Gadget. (panzer le is an option too, just adjust number of washers).
