• IR is a relationship management – a
culture of working & living together at work
place
• As all relationships, relation in industries
are made basically for cooperation & help
– conflict is natural concomitant – total
emphasis on conflict resolution – piece
time, positive employee relationship is
neglected
• Cooperation cannot be regulated through
law or bought from the market
• Cooperation requires positive approach and
application of behavioral science principles like –
– Change in the mind set of both - - employer and
employee collective – perceptual and attitudinal
– Positive orientation towards Interpersonal / Inter
group / Inter organization / Inter-class management
– Going beyond hygiene factor of motivation for
workmen also
– Ensuring two way empathetic communication as
organization culture
– Transformational leadership etc etc
• Employees ownership cooperation and
empowerment come through positive work
culture – requires building nurturing and
developing culture on continuous basis by
bringing transparency and fairness in our
dealings, fostering feeling for lasting
bondage by building bridges of trust and
credibility by developing healthy
relationships.
• Some of the innovative practices in this direction
could be :-
– Bridging the hiatus and creating a seamless relation
at workplace – removing “Industrial Apartheid”
– By adopting a developing practice of positive
discipline for reclaiming and rehabilitating an
employee, then liquidating him.
– Practicing management by walking and talking and
adopting pro-activeness in redressal of workers
grievances, than following traditional model grievance
redressal system
– Open transparent and one to one communication
system – open house
– Ensuring real employees empowerment and
engagement than ritualistic workers participation etc
etc
• Such HR Interventions will break the barrier
create an atmosphere of trust and evoke the
feeling of ownership- so vital for commitment

Employees relationship is nothing but positive


culture at workplace which ensures not only less
conflicts but symbiotic working and generation of
organizational synergy so vital for competitive
advantage
