A Novel Way to Dispose Effluents

Introduction
Today, in the modern industrialized world, there seems to be no place which is not affected by the dangers of pollution. This means that environmental dangers such as global warming have spread their wings all over the globe, just waiting to cause a catastrophe. Considering this threat, I have thought of a solution to control air pollution by treating the effluents emitted from the vehicles.

The Idea/Principle

Every vehicle, be it 2/3/4 wheelers or even more than that, has an exhaust pipe fitted at the back for the release of gaseous effluents like oxides of carbon and sulphur, suspended particulate matter, other hydrocarbons, etc. What I propose is, to have an effluent disposal box of suitable dimensions which would be having a connection with the exhaust pipe. And, for this, a valve needs to be fitted at the junction to ensure that gases do not return back to the exhaust pipe.

Then, the gaseous effluents would be stored in the box. After this, we would have Effluent Collection Centre at every 15/20 km attached to petrol bunks and toll booths, where the effluents collected can be disposed and used for other constructive purposes like making aerosol sprays, chemical industry, making medicines, meat coloring, etc. I have suggested disposal of effluents at a distance of 15-20 km since, if the distance increases, the volume of effluents will increase and exert extra pressure on the collection box which can be harmful.

One way of solving this problem is to show the level of effluents in the box, on a dashboard similar to the quantity of petrol shown near the steering. By these means, the driver would become alert to dispose the effluents in regular intervals of time.

Benefits

This is a cheap way of reducing pollution. Also, the effluent collection box can be easily detachable so that the waste collected can be disposed easily. Since we need to dispose the wastes at regular intervals, initially this can be experimented in cities and later extended to remote areas with higher efficiency.
