A leader can be define by an ability to get others to follow willingly

Which leadership style work best for me and my organization?

There are many leadership style Different style needed for different situation Leader needed to know when to exhibit a particular approach

Autocratic Leadership Style


The classical approach Manager retains as much power and decision making authority as possible Do not entertain any suggestion or initiative from subordinates Permits quick decision making Staff expected to obey orders without receiving any explanations

Traits of Autocratic leaders


Are task-oriented and are least concerned about people. Are the only decision-making authority. Attempt to solve problem without discussion and deliberation. Dont develop and groom their subordinates as leaders. Treat their followers as puppets and act themselves as puppeteers. Have big egos and are status-conscious. Expect others to follow them without questioning.

Some time the most effective style to use when: New Untrained staff Staff do not respond to any other leadership style Limited time in which to make a decision A managers power challenged by staff

Should not be used


Some time it should not be used when: Staff become tense, fearful or resentful Staff expected their opinions heard Low staff morale, absenteeism and work stoppage

Respect your subordinate Explain the rules Be consistent Educate before you enforce Listen, even if you dont change
