1. Identify key business drivers for off-shoring. There are two key business drivers that revolutionized off-shoring. They were: Highly skilled technological resources Lower software production costs High onsite production costs.

2. What is different about these drivers as compared to those a decade ago? During the last 10 years, India has seen a tremendous growth in telecommunication technology. Internet and mobile phones have witnessed an exponential growth, both in terms of reach as well as technology. This has greatly helped Indian IT firms to further reduce their cost structure while still maintaining the highest service standards. Thanks to the rapid growth and development of IT, India had a large resource base of skilled software professionals who could provide high quality solutions. 3. What is the unique value proposition of Infosys? Infosys developed the Global Delivery Model which was more than just getting work done through off-shore means. It promised to deliver higher quality and lower cost, by leveraging Infosys global capacity, global resources and global strengths. 4. How do you position Infosys against other global players like Accenture and EDS? Infosys greatest strength has been in not just developing the GDM model but also in executing it. The GDM model was based on the principle of taking work where it could be done best and where it made the most economic sense, with the least amount of acceptable risk. Thanks to their growth, this GDM model has now become a necessity for other competitors. 5. Is the success of Infosys sustainable? Yes, the success of Infosys is sustainable. Its success is based on the core principle of taking work where it could be done best and where it made the most economic sense, with the least amount of acceptable risk. As long as Infosys adhered to it, its success is guaranteed.
