Teachers exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others Target Audience The target audience for this video are K-3 teachers of various ages (from 22 70) and backgrounds, with at least a bachelors degree in the Bleckley and Pulaski County Public School Systems. The video is designed for professional development training for teachers in K-3 who are interested in learning how to teach parents to use online resources as a way to engage in reading with their children. It is assumed that the target audience has basic computers skills, some level of comfort using the internet, the people skills necessary to meet with parents, and an understanding of how to teach reading. The target audience is assumed to have kinesthetic and visual learning styles, to match the predominant learning styles of their K-3 students. The video will provide K-3 teachers with ways to encourage student reading through parents reading with their children, high school/college students reading with groups of K-3 children, and children using software to help them read. The video should get the attention of the target audience because it will help teachers think about different ways to encourage children to read. The video will present activities and online tools relevant to reading. The video should also provide satisfaction to the target audience as they realize that they have several ways to encourage children to read. Objectives 1) Teachers in K-3 will be able to provide various ways to encourage students to read, 100% of the time.
