Individual Simulation Reflection Paper. In Class 5, we will do a team-based simulation.

In the following class (Class 6), you will receive feedback on your performance and we will do a de-briefing of the simulation. Based on your experience in the simulation, what you learn about yourself and others in the debrief, and the course material in Classes 5 to 8 an individual reflection paper of approximately five pages in length will be due in hard copy in class in Class 9. This assignment is worth 30% of your course grade. The purpose of this assignment is to take your classroom learning experience and discuss what you learned and what you take away from the experience. A good reflection paper will go beyond pure description and explore the experience in sufficient conceptual depth drawing on theory and concepts from the class and relate the experience to ones personal experience. Very good reflection papers will examine personal insights and the tension inherent in deep level learning. Questions you should address in your reflection paper should include: What happened? (A brief description of the simulation experience: highlights more than a stage by stage recounting.) What are your thoughts, feelings, and observations regarding the experience? What connections to theory and readings does the simulation experience have for you? How does the theory further add value and explanation to the class experience? What is your take-away from this simulation experience? What have you learned (about yourself, about team processes) and how will you apply it? Finally, ask yourself: Why? Why is this relevant? Why did this happen?
