Aim: To assess the personality of an individual using Eysenck Personality Inventory. Materials Required: 1. Eysenck Personality Inventory 2. Scoring key and Norms 3. Writing materials Procedure: The subject is seated comfortably. An atmosphere is created where the subject gives honest answers. The subject is given a copy of the Eysenck Personality Inventory and he is asked to follow the following instructions. Here are some questions regarding the way you behave, feel and act. Read the items in inventory casually and put the tick mark in any one of the alternatives among Yes, Sometime and No. This shows the agreement and disagreement of the content. Work quickly, and dont spend too much time over any question, we want your first reaction, not a long drawn-out thought process. The whole questionnaire shouldnt take more than 45 minutes. Be sure not to omit any questions. Start now, work quickly and remember to answer every question. There is no right or wrong answers, and this isnt a test of intelligence or ability, but simply a measure of the way you behave. Your answer will be kept as confidential. After the subject has understood what he has to do he is allowed answer the inventory. At the end the answers are checked up with the help of the key. The place of the subject on Introversion-Extroversion, Self-concept, Independence-Dependence and Temperament are identified. Precautions: 1 Before the Inventory is given every effort should be made to see that the subject has confidence in the experimenter. If he has confidence in the experimenter he answers truthfully. 2 If the subject is not able to understand any question he is given the meaning of the question objectively. Scoring: The scoring was done by the following way: Sl. No Response Score 1 2 3 Yes Sometimes No 1 2 3

The following instructions should be followed: The main adjective of this is to know your educational interests so that we can guide for your education. In every box of this booklet two educational subjects are written. You can put your idea of your educational interests from the two given educational subjects keeping in view, the salary, prestige and future to the subject. In this way, you have to indicate you like or dislike of the subject given in the boxes, leaving no box unmarked. If you have any doubt in this please ask. Though there is no limit to complete this record, even then answer quickly. Mostly 7 to 10 minutes are required to complete this record. Return this record sheet after marking your choice of the educational subject in each of the box. Scoring Scheme: Scores can be interpreted in two ways, quantitatively and qualitatively. S.No. Classification Score 1 High Interest 10-14 2 Above average interest 6-9 3 Average interest 4-5 4 Below average interest 2-3 5 Low interest 0-1 Score can be presented in order through the profile and thus main educational interest area, second interest area, third interest area and the least interest area may be understood by counting the frequencies of each educational interest area. Result: The scores are tabulated for the individual and the group separated in the table 2.1 and 2.2. The answers are checked up with the help of the key and interpretations are given. To study whether learning occurs by trial and error Materials Required: 1. Paper Mazes 2. Counter 3. Writing materials. Description of the Paper Maze The learning paper maze is hexagonal in shape and having lot of two different paths. The two paths are open end and dead end, and starting point and the goal is shown to make the subject move in the direction as instructed. Whenever the subject goes through the correct path he is allowed through open end to proceed further towards the goal. Whenever he touches the wrong path he reaches the dead end and he is not allowed to proceed further and the error counting is made. Procedure: The subject is seated comfortably. He is given a copy of the paper maze instrument. He is shown the starting point and the goal of the random path and is given the following instructions: when I say start tracing the path by touch

your hand with the help of the pencil. If you went to the wrong path you must come back to the immediate preceding correct place until you reach the goal. While doing this do not jump over any path. You can go right or left, forward or backward but do not make any diagonal movement. Try to reach the goal as fast as possible. After these instructions, the subject is given 5 trials; the time taken to reach the goal in each trail and the errors committed in each trail is noted down. Result: The scores are tabulated for the individual in the table 3.1. The learning curves are drawn for time and errors scores. Aim: To study the effect of varying stimulus presentation on the extent of Muller-Lyer illusion. Materials Required: 1. Muller-Lyer Illusion board 2. Writing materials. Procedure: The subject is seated comfortably. He is given the Muller-Lyer illusion board. There is a straight in it. He is allowed to make the length of the movable line exactly the same as that of the fixed line. He is instructed to measure the length of the movable line every time. The process should be repeated 10 times in the ascending and 10 times in descending method. Measure the exact length of the movable line. Observe and say the length of the movable line through the ascending and descending method alternatively. Description of the instrument: There are two straight lines in the Muller-Lyer illusion board as shown below:

One of the lines is covered by arrowheads and the other by featherhead. The line covered by arrowheads is constant and the line with featherheads can

be varied. The line with the featherheads is made definitely shorter than the standard line i.e. arrowhead and the subject is instructed as follows: I will gradually increase the length of the variable (line with arrowheads). When you feel this line is equal in length to the standard (line with arrowheads), ask me to stop. The subject is given 10 trials. In each trial the length of the variable line judged as equal to the standard line is noted down. The variable line is made definitely longer than the standard line and the subject is given the following instructions. Now I will gradually decreases the length of this line (variable line). When you find that the line is equal to the standard line, ask me to stop. Here also the subject is given 10 trials. The judgement of the subject is recorded. The ascending and the descending trails are given alternately. That is, if the first trail is ascending, the second is descending, third is ascending and so on. Result: The mean of the subjects estimation has to be worked out. The difference between the length of the standard line and the subjects estimation has to be worked out. It shows the extent of illusion. The difference in the extent of illusion under ascending and descending series is tabulated in the table 4.1 and 4.2. 1. Novaco Anger Scale 2. Key and Norms 3. Writing materials. Procedure: The subject is seated comfortably. He is given a copy of the Novaco Anger Scale. He is asked to read the following instructions: The items on this scale describe situations that are related to anger arousal. For each of the items please rate the degree to which the incident described would anger or provoke you by ticking the appropriate degree of annoyance. Try to imagine the incident actually happening to you, and then indicate the extent to which it would have made you angry. In the actual situations, the degree of anger that you would experience would depend on other factors that are not specified in the items (such as what kind of situation, how the act occurred, etc.). This scale is concerned with your general reactions, and so the details of the particular situations have been omitted. Please do your best to rate your responses in this general fashion. Put tick mark the degree to which you would feel angry or annoyed in the following situations. The answers are checked up with the help of the key. There is no time limit. However it may take approximately 15 minutes to answer all the questions. Description of the tool: The anger scale is device by Raymond W. Novaco, is popular anger scale used to measure the anger level of the individual. There are 25 questions in this scale which have to be well answered as five points scale as Very Little, Little, Moderate Amount, Much and Very Much. Scoring: The scoring can be done by the following manner: S.No. 1 2 3 4 5 Score 00 - 45 46 - 55 56 - 75 76 - 85 86 - 100 Response Very Little Little Moderate Amount Much Very Much Score 0 1 2 3 4
