This graph represents the eIIect oI silica Iumes on compressive strength at diIIerent water

cement ratio. The graph shows that the compressive strength Ior both 28 and 108 days increases
as the concentration oI silica Iumes increases until it reaches optimum level. The highest level
compressive strength reached by concrete Ior 28 and 108 days were approximately 110 and
105 respectively. The silica Iume required reaching optimum strength Ior 28 and 108 days
concrete were 13 and 11 respectively. The compressive strength then gradually decreased Ior
both the type oI concrete as the silica Iumes concentration increased.

This graph analyses the heat oI hydration Ior diIIerent water cement ratio against time. The graph
shows 4 curves. For Iirst 24 days the heat oI hydration Ior all water-cement ratios was
approximately same having very little variation. AIter approximately 36 days the heat oI
hydration became directly proportion to the water-cement ratio. The graph shows that highest
heat oI hydration was recorded Ior water cement ratio 0.45 and minimum heat oI hydration was
recorded Ior water cement ratio 0.25.
