STEPS IN THE RATIONAL DECISION MAKING MODEL
t involves the following six steps:
DEFINE A PROBLEM
ABC corporation wanted to buy office chairs.
For exampIe: ABC corp having a problem with their chairs that their wheels are broken
and foam on the seats are shrinked so they wanted to buy 50 new office chairs.

IDENTIFY THE DECISION CRITERIA
Which features ABC corp seeks in buying new office chairs.
For exampIe: ABC corp seeks those feature which must present in an office chair and
they have an experience so they know everything about it.

ALLOCATE WEIGHTS TO THE CRITERIA
ABC corp will make a list of the features which they want in office chairs and then they
give weight age to it out of 10 numbers.
For ExampIe:
Foam
Quality
Adjustable
Arms
Backrest Gas lift Casters
10 9 10 8 8

DEVELOP THE ALTERNATIVES
After seeing all the features which ABC corp wants to have in office chairs so now they
develop a list of alternatives.
For example:

EVALUATE THE ALTERNATIVES
After developing alternatives ABC corp evaluate the alternatives

SELECTING THE ALTERNATIVE
After the evaluation of all the alternatives. ABC corp consider all the features and select
Pak chairs to suuply them 50 Office chairs.
