The Areas
For tariff & administrative purposes, IATA has divided the world into 3 distinct geographical areas. These are known as Traffic Conference Areas. Traffic Conference Area 1 Traffic Conference Area 2 Traffic Conference Area 3

North, South and Central America Hawaiian Islands The Bahamas Bermuda Greenland All the Caribbean Islands

Traffic Conference Area 2


Europe (including Iceland, Russia to the west of Ural Mountains) & Islands adjacent to Europe The Azores Canary Islands The Middle East (including Iran) Africa and adjacent islands

Traffic Conference Area 3


Asia (including Russia to the east of the Ural Mountains) Islands of the Pacific Ocean lying west of the International Date Line Australasia

IATAs three main offices - Geneva, Montreal and Singapore. Geneva office - Europe, Africa and the Middle East Montreal office - The Americas Singapore office - The Far East and Australasia

Traffic Conference Area 1


Covers Western Hemisphere including North & South America and adjacent islands; Greenland; Bermuda; West Indies; Islands of Caribbean Sea; and Hawaiian Islands, including Midway and Palmyra

Sub-Division 1
North America: Alaska Canada Continental U.S.A. Hawaii Mexico St. Pierre Miquelon

Sub-Division 2
Central America: Belize, Costa Rica, EL Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Caribbean Area (Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Barbuda, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, French Guyana, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Nevis, Puerto Rico, Saba, St. Barthelemy, St.Eustatius, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Martin, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago, U.S. Virgin Islands, Surinam.

Sub-Division 3
South America: Argentina Bolivia Brazil Chile Colombia Ecuador Panama Uruguay Venezuela.

Traffic Conference Area 2


All of Europe (including that part of the C.I.S. in Europe) Iceland Azores of Africa and island adjacent thereto; Ascension Islands; The part of Asia lying west of, and including Iran.

Sub-Division 1
Consists of the whole of Europe, including the European Community member states & Schengen member states.

AUSTRIA BELGIUM BULGARIA CYPRUS THE CZECH REPUBLIC DENMARK ESTONIA FINLAND FRANCE GERMANY GREECE HUNGARY IRELAND ITALY LATVIA LITHUANIA LUXEMBOURG MALTA NETHERLANDS POLAND PORTUGAL ROMANIA SLOVAKIA SLOVENIA SPAIN SWEDEN THE UK (GREAT BRITAIN & NORTHERN IRELAND)

Sub-Division 2
Middle East: Bahrain, Benin Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Yemen.

Sub-Division 3
Africa, including its neighbouring islands. It is further subdivided into different regional zones.

Southern
Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Central Africa, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Western
Angola, Benin, Burkina, Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Bissan, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Sao Tome and Principle Senegal, Sierra, Leone, Togo, Zaire.

Eastern
Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda.

East / Central
Eastern & Central Africa Indian Ocean Islands: Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mayotte, Reunion, Seychelles.

Includes all of Asia and the adjacent islands; All of the East Indies; Australia, New Zealand and adjacent islands; Islands of the Pacific Ocean except those included in TC 1; Part of the Russian Federation East of the Ural Mountains.

Sub-Division 1
South Asian Subcontinent: SAARC Countries Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka

Sub-Division 2
South West Pacific (Australasia): Australia, Cook Islands Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Society Islands, Solomon Island, Tonga, Turvalu. Vanustu and Intermediate islands.

Sub-Division 3
South East Asia: Brunei, Cambodia, China People's Republic, Guam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lao (People's Dem. Rep.), Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippine, Russian Federation (East of the Urals), Singapore, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam,
