Surah al-Layl (The Night)

ِ‫بِسْمِ الِ الرّحْمنِ الرّحِيم‬

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫وَاللّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى‬

[92:1] I swear by the night when it draws a veil,
 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫جلّى‬
َ َ‫وَالنّهَارِ إِذَا ت‬

[92:2] And the day when it shines in brightness,

 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫ق الذّكَ َر وَالُْنثَى‬
َ َ‫خل‬
َ ‫وَمَا‬

[92:3] And the creating of the male and the female,

 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫شتّى‬
َ َ‫سعْيَكُ ْم ل‬
َ ّ‫إِن‬

[92:4] Your striving is most surely (directed to)

various (ends).
 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫فََأمّا مَن أَعْطَى وَاتّقَى‬

[92:5] Then as for him who gives away and guards

(against evil),
Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫سنَى‬
ْ ُ‫َوصَدّقَ بِالْح‬

[92:6] And accepts the best,

 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫فَسَ ُنيَسّرُهُ لِ ْليُسْرَى‬

[92:7] We will facilitate for him the easy end.

 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫ستَ ْغنَى‬
ْ ‫وََأمّا مَن بَخِلَ وَا‬

[92:8] And as for him who is niggardly and

considers himself free from need (of Allah),
Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫ب بِالْحُسْنَى‬
َ ‫وَكَ ّذ‬

[92:9] And rejects the best,

 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫فَسَ ُنيَسّرُهُ لِ ْلعُسْرَى‬

[92:10] We will facilitate for him the difficult end.

 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫عنْهُ مَالُ ُه إِذَا تَرَدّى‬

َ ‫َومَا يُغْنِي‬

[92:11] And his wealth will not avail him when he

perishes.
 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫علَيْنَا َللْهُدَى‬
َ ّ‫إِن‬

[92:12] Surely Ours is it to show the way,

 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫َوإِنّ َلنَا لَلْخِرَ َة وَالُْولَى‬

[92:13] And most surely Ours is the hereafter and

the former.
 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫فَأَنذَ ْرتُكُ ْم نَارًا تَلَظّى‬

[92:14] Therefore I warn you of the fire that

flames:
 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫ل َيصْلَهَا إِلّ الَْشْقَى‬

َ

[92:15] None shall enter it but the most unhappy,

 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫الّذِي كَ ّذبَ وَ َتوَلّى‬

[92:16] Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns
(his) back.
 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫لْتْقَى‬
َ ‫وَسَيُجَ ّنبُهَا ا‬

[92:17] And away from it shall be kept the one who

guards most (against evil),
 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫الّذِي ُيؤْتِي مَالَ ُه يَتَزَكّى‬

[92:18] Who gives away his wealth, purifying

himself
 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫وَمَا لَِحَدٍ عِندَ ُه مِن نّ ْعمَةٍ تُجْزَى‬

[92:19] And no one has with him any boon for

which he should be rewarded,
 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫إِلّ ا ْبتِغَاء وَجْهِ َربّهِ الَْعْلَى‬

[92:20] Except the seeking of the pleasure of his

Lord, the Most High.
 Surah al-Layl (The Night)

‫َولَسَوْفَ يَ ْرضَى‬

[92:21] And he shall soon be well-pleased.
