ON-T HE -SPOT POSTER -M AKING COMPETITION


CATEGORIES The competition has two (2) categories: elementary and high school. Each participating school can send one (1) representative for each category. PRE-REGISTRATION Contestants must pre-register with the Bustos Council for Tourism, Culture and the Arts (BCTCA) Secretariat until 13 January 2012, Friday, 5:00 in the afternoon. Pre-registration requirements are the following: 1. School identification card 2. Letter of endorsement signed by the Principal MECHANICS Contest begins at 2:00 in the afternoon, 16 January 2012 at the Bustos Heritage Park, Municipal Government Compound, Bustos, Bulacan. On -site registration starts at 1:00 in the afternoon of the same date. Contestants will be given two (2) hours to complete their work. On registration, each contestant will be given an assigned number. At the end of the allotted time for the contest, contestant must attach the number on the face of the poster. Participants are free to use any medium, except ink, on 18 x 24 inches Bristol board, which the event organizers will provide. Each contestant is entitled to only two (2) boards. Participants must bring and provide their own art materials and painting tools. Posters should revolve around the theme Discover Bustos. The competition is ON-THE-SPOT; therefore pre-done and pre-prepared work is not allowed. Participants name or ANY OTHER WORDS should not be written on the face of the poster. Coaches and trainers are not allowed to come close to the contestants during the contest proper. They will be held in the Aklatang Bayan for the time being. A board of judges will be selected for the contest. Its decision shall be final and unappealable. Criteria for judging is as follows:
a. Creativity (30%) refers to the newness and originality of the design b. Compostition (20%) refers to the visual balance, static or dynamic, of the various elements of the poster c. Expression of emotion (20%) refers to the extent to which the work can be expected to evoke an emotional response on the viewer d. Expression of meaning (10%) measures how well the poster makes its own theme clear to the viewer e. Finish (10%) refers to the completion of the poster and attention to quality f. Overall impression (10%) addresses the poster as a whole and based on the first glimpse of the finished piece.

All entries become property of the Municipal Government of Bustos, Bulacan. Winners will be announced during the Konsiyerto sa Parke on 21 January 2012.
