Mrs. De Lorenzo: Class Procedures Classroom Procedures Knowing exactly what is expected of you will help you be successful in this class and others, Conducting yourself in a kind and respectful manner is an expectation that T have for young ladies and gentleman of your age. Likewise, T will always treat you with respect and it is my obligation as a teacher to ensure that you feel safe in our class and our school. Please read the following procedures carefully. arcing and Leaving Class When you enter the classroom, please go directly to your seat and organize your belongings. Sharpen a pencil if necessary at this time. > WRITE DOWN THE HOMEWORK. > Begin the DO NOW that is posted. > When it is time to leave the classroom I will ask you to stand up, push in your chair, and stand behind your chair. > When I see that you are ready you will be dismissed. Tardiness > Being on time means being in the classroom when the period begins. > Three tardies to class will result in a lunch detention as well as a phone call or letter home. Announcements over the Public Address System (PA) > No matter what is going on in class ~ we must stop and be quiet for all announcements. All students must remain quiet regardless of whether or not the announcement applies to you. ‘Agenda/Homework Board > The agenda for the day will be written on the board. Please refer to this as soon as you come to class so you know what to expect. > Make sure that you copy the homework every day (for every subject) in your agenda. The Teacher Homework Page posted on the website is a back-up only. Make-Up Work Folder > Each week there will be a new Classroom Assistant. It is this person's responsibility to maintain a copy of the classroom notebook and prepare a make-up work form for absent students. The Classroom Assistant will also perform duties such as handing out papers, materials, and taking notes to the office. U ‘Mrs, De Lorenzo: Class Procedures Distributing Graded Work > Most graded material will be handed back by Monday of the week after it was ‘turned in, Moving About in the Classroom With the exception of the C.A. ~ you should be in your seat unless otherwise directed by the teacher. > Only one person at a time may get up sharpen a pencil, You may not sharpen a pencil during a lesson or class discussion. > Tf you need a tissue you may get one at any time, but please use discretion. Bathroom > Teachers ask that you try to use the bathroom during GUIDE and lunch, however, ‘there are times when this is not possible and you will need to leave the room during class to use the restroom. Tf you must go during our class I ask that you go immediately upon arriving to class, Tf Tam teaching a lesson or a class discussion is taking place and you must leave to use the restroom you will use an appropriate signal which T will teach you. > You must complete the sign out sheet when leaving the room. You must also take a bathroom pass. All sections must be completed. Upon retuning, please indicate the time you came back. v Nurse > If you feel that you need to seek the assistance of the school nurse, please raise your hand to inform me and I will write you a pass. Signal for Getting Your Attention > When you are working on your own or with a group and I need to get your attention, Iwill simply raise my hand, This means I NEED FIVE: 2 eyes on me, 2 ears listening, and 1 mouth not speaking. When you see my hand raised, you will raise your hand, keep your eyes on me, listen carefully, and wait for directions. > This signal may also be used during assemblies and during emergencies.
