The Origins of KpVV

• 1996 Policy decentralization from national to


regional/local level
•Knowledge transfer in two ‘programs’ VERDI
and CVOV
•2004 KpVV integrates VERDI and CVOV. In
2006 followed Fietsberaad
•2005 –2007 increasing number of programs (i.e.
spatial planning, ICT in PT, social security in PT,
accessible public transport)
•2007 decision to continue KpVV until 2012

Who do we serve and who’s paying?

KpVV works for officials and policy makers and


supports staff who work with local or regional
authorities.

KpVV has a yearly budget of 3,5 million Euro,


provided by all tiers of government (ministry,
provinces, cityregions, municipalities)

KpVV supports as an independent institution


local and regional authorities in their efforts to
develop and implement traffic and transport
policy. The present and future demands and
needs of the customers are leading.
