People often resist change. Rate of change is at an all-time high. Change is a tough process. Managing change is all about reducing the

resistance to it. Change management is the systematic process of applying the knowledge, tools and resources needed to affect change

1. Investment wasted. 2. Cost of stress, resulting in a loss of

productivity. 3. Damaged image in the market. 4. Marginalization of the organization. 5. Loss of key people who did not want to change.

Identifying potential sources of resistance. Developing communication plans to increase

understanding and acceptance throughout. Building the right learning plans for the right targets and at the right time. Ensuring that people who choose to change are rewarded and those who do not ,face the consequences.

1. Everyone wants to see where he or she fits

into the picture. People want to know what the targets of change are and how will they be impacted by the change. 2. Multiple change initiatives can be overwhelming. Too often multiple changes happen without keeping a clear picture of what is needed. (contd )

3. Beware of the Black-hole Too often the middle level do not comply with the change the senior level want to get. Things do not happen thus. 4. Negative attitudes are contagious Changes have never been warmly welcomed. Decisions to change happens either because current state is no longer viable or there is a new desired state which has to be achieved. (contd )

5. Communicate always. make your people see progress to make sure they stay on course.
